The MFDA has offered group health insurance to its membership since 1980 with the programs evolving into multiple plans that allow each individual member business to select benefit levels that meet the needs and budget of their employees. The group rating and stability has allowed the MFDA group health plan to control increases in premiums to less than 10% on a annual basis. Open enrollment for current members is annually in the month of December with a deductible on a calendar year of January 1 to December 31.
